    Good day, Neftaly family, esteemed partners, team members, and above all, the fathers and father figures we honour and celebrate today,

    As the Chief Development Officer of Neftaly, my work revolves around growth — the growth of our programs, the expansion of our reach, and the empowerment of the communities we serve. But today, we pause to celebrate a different kind of growth: the kind that begins at home, nurtured by the hearts and hands of fathers.

    Father’s Day 2025 is a moment for us to recognise those who have played one of the most important roles in human development — fathers. Fathers are the original developers — they help build strong foundations in their children’s lives, cultivate confidence, plant seeds of wisdom, and create the kind of structure that supports success far beyond the home.

    Fathers are our first leaders, our early protectors, and often our greatest teachers. And while they may not always wear capes or shout their achievements, they show up every single day with strength, guidance, and love.

    It is a great privilege to stand before you as Neftaly’s Chief Strategic Partnership Officer on this special occasion — Father’s Day 2025.

    In my role, I am tasked with building strong, sustainable, and meaningful partnerships — connections that are rooted in trust, mutual respect, and long-term impact. And when I reflect on the essence of fatherhood, I see these same values shining through.

    Fathers are our first strategic partners in life. From the very beginning, they walk beside us, protect us, guide us, and nurture our growth. They don’t just provide materially — they offer wisdom, structure, discipline, and unconditional love. And just like any strong partnership, their influence is felt not just in the moment, but for a lifetime.

    As the Chief Finance Officer of Neftaly, my role often involves balancing budgets, managing resources, and ensuring financial accountability. But today, we gather to recognise a different kind of investment—one that cannot be counted in rands or audited in spreadsheets. Today, we celebrate the invaluable investment of fatherhood.

    Fathers are some of the greatest long-term investors society will ever know. They invest in their families, in their communities, and in the future of their children—quietly, consistently, and often without any expectation of return. They give time, wisdom, strength, and support. And these are the kinds of investments that yield the richest returns—returns that show up in strong families, responsible children, and resilient societies.

    At Neftaly, we see first-hand how father figures make a difference in the lives of our youth—whether it’s through guidance, provision, encouragement, or simply being present. Many of our programme participants have overcome challenges because of a father or mentor who stood by them. This kind of support isn’t measured in numbers, but in outcomes that change lives.

    As the Chief Research Officer of Neftaly, my daily work revolves around data, evidence, and impact. We spend time analysing what drives change, what builds stronger communities, and how we can measure success. But some of the most powerful influences in our lives cannot be fully captured in numbers or statistics. One of those is the profound impact of a father.

    Father’s Day 2025 gives us an opportunity to pause from the graphs and reports and reflect on a truth that transcends research – the immeasurable value of fatherhood.

    Fathers are not only contributors to the home; they are architects of character, carriers of wisdom, and stabilisers in uncertain times. Whether teaching us how to take our first step or encouraging us to take our biggest leap, fathers are there – sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, but always present.

    Through our research at Neftaly, we have seen time and time again that children and youth supported by engaged, present, and nurturing father figures often grow up with greater confidence, resilience, and emotional strength. The power of your presence as fathers cannot be overstated.

    Good morning.

    It is an honour to address you today on Neftaly Agriculture Day 2025 — a day that reminds us of the vital role research plays in shaping the future of agriculture across Africa.

    As Chief Research Officer at Neftaly, I want to emphasize that knowledge and innovation are the seeds from which sustainable agriculture grows. Today’s farmers face unprecedented challenges — from climate change and soil degradation to market volatility and the demand for increased productivity. Research is the foundation that equips us to meet these challenges head-on.

    Neftaly is committed to driving research that is not only rigorous but also relevant, practical, and inclusive. Our approach integrates scientific discovery with local knowledge, empowering smallholder farmers, agripreneurs, and policy makers alike.

    In collaboration with academic institutions like the University of Johannesburg, government agencies, and private sector partners, Neftaly has facilitated impactful research in areas such as:

    • Climate-smart agriculture practices that increase resilience and reduce environmental impact
    • Precision farming technologies that optimize resource use and improve yields
    • Market intelligence that helps farmers and cooperatives understand demand trends and price dynamics

    Our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programs continue to foster a new generation of researchers and agricultural innovators who bring fresh ideas and data-driven solutions to the field.
